How to vote in North Carolina
The North Carolina Board of Elections has put together a website to help voters who were impacted by Hurricane Helene find the information they need. Learn more. If you are displaced, you can request an absentee ballot online to be delivered to your new location. If you have already requested an absentee ballot and need it to be sent to a new location, contact your county board of elections to spoil your current ballot and reissue a ballot to your new location.

Voter registration deadlines
- Online: 25 days before Election Day
- By mail: Postmarked by 25 days before Election Day
- In person: 3 days before Election Day (via registration during the early voting period)
Absentee ballot request deadlines
- Online: 7 days before Election Day
- By mail: Received by 7 days before Election Day
- In person: 7 days before Election Day
Absentee ballot return deadlines
- By mail: Received by Election Day
- In person: Received by Election Day
Voting dates
- Early voting starts: 19 days before Election Day
- Early voting ends: 3 days before Election Day at 3PM
